March 2024: Steve Morris, owner of C&V Wetworks, dad to 5 and poppy to 15!

Happy March, dear Classmates!

This month, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on our old friend Steve Morris, the owner of C&V Wetworks, a design/construction/service company of inground swimming pools.

Steve shares: “I have over 40 years of experience in the pool industry. As a member of the PHTA, I am a Certified Building Professional (CBP) and a Certified Service Professional (CSP). I have been married to Janine (Woods) Morris since 1994. We have five children and 15 grandchildren. Winters are spent skiing or hiking; summers are spent biking, kayaking, and hiking.”

Class of 1982: Where did you go to college?

Steve: I tried college after high school but realized it wasn’t for me. I met a friend who offered me a summertime gig with a pool company. We worked for Anthony Pools through the 80s. In the 90s, I got a job with a smaller builder in Newtown Square. I learned a lot with them, from technical & mechanical installations to design and construction layouts. In 2001, I started my own company, C&V Wetworks. We are a full-service inground pool company.

Class of 1982: Tell us about your family.

Steve: My wife Janine and I met in the early 90s and have been married for 30 years. We’re a blended family with five kids — Chris, Randy, Courtney, Veronica, and Cody. We also have 15 grandchildren, with another due in July. We’re fortunate to have them all within about a half hour. Our pool gets a little crowded when everyone shows up on a hot day.

Class of 1982: What advice do you have for others about creating your best life?

Steve: I don’t remember having a specific dream job, but I knew I wanted to explore everything.

My advice to my younger self (and to my kids): Play nice, work hard, and most importantly, plan ahead for your financial future.

My advice for others: Be nice, eat healthy AND exercise, hug the important people in your life, and don’t forget to say I Love You.

Class of 1982: What would you like to say to all of your classmates today?

Steve: It was wonderful to see everyone at the last few reunions. It is heartwarming to know I made such great friends so long ago. I feel as comfortable with you today as I was 40 years ago.
