Lindsay Parnell

Lindsay Parnell (b. Pennsylvania 1995) is an authentic movement and mediation teacher, as well as a performance, sculpture, and installation artist who currently lives and works in Richmond, VA.

Lindsay is most interested in utilizing movement and breathing as a means of learning about one another and developing deeper empathy for each other. She does this through teaching authentic dance and meditation classes at Your Well on Wheels:

Her art is her passion, and it has been exhibited in many spaces including Little Berlin in Philadelphia, PA; Present Co. in Brooklyn, NY; and various spots throughout downtown Richmond — such as Gallery5, Black Iris, The Anderson and Yellow Zone Artspace.

Lindsay graduated from the Sculpture + Extended Media Department at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts in 2017 with minors in Dance + Choreography and Art History.

In 2018, she was an artist in residence at the Saari Residency in Mynämäki, Finland with her collaborator Kevin Schwenkler where they taught movement and sound workshops in the city of Turku.

In the summer of 2017, Lindsay attended Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, FL where she studied under performers Jennifer Monson and Zeena Parkins. With their mentorship, she developed movement and performance scores through practicing authentic movement with the ten other residents.
