PW Classmates: What do you do now for work? And what has your career path been?

Brian Corliss: I am an HVAC Applications Engineer for Daikin North America. I also have volunteered to rescue dogs, and have placed over 50 dogs so far.

PW Classmates: Are you married? Kids? Grandkids?

Brian: I am divorced now after a 35-year marriage. We lived in Blue Bell for years, and I now live in Skippack. I have 5 children — Kristin, Megan, Brian, Keith, and Eric. And I have two granddaughters, Nora (from Kristin) and Emery (from Brian). Our dog is a German Shepard named Zeus, and we have many granddogs.

PW Classmates: What did you dream of becoming when you were in high school?

Brian: I wanted to be an Air Force pilot. And after PW, I took some time off before enrolling at Lyons Technical Institute to learn to become an HVAC engineer. I graduated #1 in my class. Then, I attended night school at Penn State’s Ogontz campus, where I got a degree in HVAC design. I then worked as a mechanical contractor running US Steel in Fairless Hills, PA. In addition to being an engineer, I have also worked in sales and design, and sold commercial HVAC systems. I have worked for the last decade as the Northeast Applications Engineer for Daikin North America.

PW Classmates: What advice would you give to your high school self?

Brian: Don’t sweat the small stuff, be yourself. Be a leader and not a follower.

PW Classmates: What advice do you have for others about creating your best life?

Brian: Live in the moment, take time to enjoy the little things and family. Stay away from negativity and laugh and smile more.

PW Classmates: What would you like to say to all of your classmates today?

Brian: I’m glad I got to spend three years with you in high school. I hope you are all healthy and happy.
