USDLA 2023 National Conference: Meet Waldorf University President Dr. Robert Alsop
Check out our interview on the Distance Learning Roundtable about Waldorf University’s Master of Education in Social-Emotional Learning
About this episode: Waldorf University has become a pioneer in online education for educators, offering four individual Master of Education programs for teachers and administrators who want to grow personally and professionally. The programs are fully online and have no set course times, so our students achieve their degrees on schedule.
In recent years, Waldorf University partnered with world-renowned educator and founder of the Freedom Writers Foundation, Erin Gruwell, to develop our M. Ed in Social Emotional Learning. The school provides all the original Freedom Writers students from Erin’s classroom with a full scholarship to our M. Ed program. It continues to support those educators who go through the Freedom Writers Foundation Institute with Waldorf University credit and a discount on tuition for those who wish to apply those credits towards their M. Ed in Social Emotional Learning.

Research of the Week:
Intersectionality Visualized: An Analysis of Global Feminisms — By Hannah Verster
Abstract: This paper is a detailed analysis of the Global Feminisms exhibition held at the Brooklyn Museum in 2007. Seeking to understand the ways in which women curators have challenged the traditional male artistic canon through their practice, this paper engages in a close reading of the exhibition’s design and the feminist artworks within it.
This paper argues: The global feminisms exhibition visualizes intersectionality, bringing together the artistic voices of women of diverse backgrounds whose works explore colonialism, sexuality, self-identity, motherhood, nationality, and other themes to form a rich tapestry that is not contained within the frame of the European canon. This paper illuminates an important movement toward feminist curatorial activism in the spaces of museums globally.
